Brilliant scene. Joy Bang enters in something that looks like an empty movie theatre. Its marquee advertises Gordon Douglas’ Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye (1950).
She’s waiting patiently and finally the lights are out and a movie trailer is shown.
It’s from Bernard Girard’s Gone with the West (1975). The film was shot during 1972-73 (when Messiah of Evil was also shot) but it’s released two years later.
But while the trailer is still playing, some mysterious and haunting figures are quietly sitting in the dark.
No feature film will be screened tonight.
