During the revolutionary spirit of 1968, Godard is an obvious influence to the cinephile characters of the film. Except for the Bande à Part scene in Louvre, there is a large poster of La Chinoise in Louis Garrel’s room. Also, postcards of Roberto Rossellini’s Paisa (1946), Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane (1941) and François Truffaut’s The 400 Blows (1959) are visible.
