The screenings of The Purple Rose of Cairo were over and its cast came back to Hollywood, leaving Mia Farrow alone with her unfulfilled dream of escaping. But at the end of Woody Allen’s great film, she finds serenity when Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers start dancing and singing “Cheek to Cheek”.
