[A part of Video Stores in Films tribute.]
Palmer Video is the place where Amelia (Catherine Keener) is usually rent movies and also the place where the three stages of her relationship with employee Bill (Kevin Corrigan) are happening: the flirt, a misunderstanding and making amends. Few VHS tapes are seen during their conversation, starting with Peter and Bobby Farrelly’s Dumb & Dumber (1994).
Some of the horrors that are visible. León Klimovsky’s The Werewolf vs Vampire Woman (1971), John Bushelman’s Day of the Nightmare (1965), Barry Mahon’s The Love Cult (1966).
Kaneto Shindô’s The Witch (1964), Ken Friedman’s Death by Invitation (1971), Stanley H. Brassloff’s Two Girls for a Madman (1968).
Additionally, there is a great selection of posters which are seen outside store. Lodge Kerrigan’s Clean, Shaven (1993), Raoul Ruiz’s The Golden Boat (1990), Jill Godmilow’s Roy Cohn/Jack Smith (1994).
Another two posters, Todd Haynes’ Safe (1995) and Hal Hartley’s Amateur (1994).
